Job description

Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Contract Type: Long Term

Leader Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work at a small SEND school based in Wakefield. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis. The school caters to students aged 11-16 years old in Key Stages 3 and 4, specifically supporting those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have been excluded from mainstream education. While school-based experience is not essential, we highly value transferable skills, experience, and the right personality traits for this role.

Role Requirements

For this role you do not require experience, but it is desirable. You should have a passion for working with children with additional needs and be willing to work hard to give children the best support. If you have a background in Youth Work, Sport, Army, Police, Prison or Creative Arts such as Music or Art then please apply!
