Job description

This OFSTED rated GOOD school, based in Sheffield, are searching for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced SEND TA who upholds a passion for providing children with SEND with the best experiences and tailored cooperation. This applicant will require experience working on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings with children of varying physical and educational needs.

The successful applicant will:
  1. Be reliable and consistent.
  2. Understand an individual’s needs, not offering a common approach to all.
  3. Have ample experience with SEND pupils.
  4. Ideally be PECS and/or Makaton trained. Although this is preferred, training can be offered to a standout applicant.
  5. Have NVQ 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting and assisting the daily needs of SEND pupils, ensuring a comfortable and enabling learning environment is provided.
  2. Guarantee input is given allowing contribution to individual learning plans.
  3. Liaising with outside professionals to ensure that each child is receiving what is required for their individual learning journey.
  4. Regular progress monitoring and recording of SEND pupils.
