We are currently recruiting for a great school in the Weston-Super-Mare area that is looking for someone to join their team for the start of the new academic year. In this role as an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support children with special needs across various levels of the autistic spectrum aged 16+. This role is for an immediate start and is long-term if successful following a trial.

Key skills the ideal candidate will have:

• You must be comfortable working 1:1 within an SEND role or with children in small groups
• Demonstrate active listening skills and strong verbal communication skills
• Look after children's physical, social, and emotional welfare
• Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding
• Be aware of safeguarding procedures to keep children safe at all times

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people or SEND in any capacity
• You must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to process a new one
• Either live in Weston-Super-Mare or within a commutable distance
• Demonstrate fluent English, both verbal and written
