SEND Teaching Assistant

Pay between £ – £ per week. Dependent on experience

Connex Education Solutions is working with Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham Multi Academy Trust as their recruitment partner to seek warm and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils in their schools.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA), you will work closely with class teachers to assist students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, explaining concepts, facilitating engaging activities, and supporting their educational development. Key duties include managing behaviour challenges, aiding with exam arrangements, and helping prepare classroom resources.

We welcome passionate Teaching Assistants of all experience levels – from those starting out to build their skills, to experienced assistants seeking new challenges. Full and part-time roles available.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a patient, caring, and encouraging manner
  • Be able to quickly build rapport with students
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Be confident dealing with challenging behaviour and SEND, including Autism, SEMH, and Communication Needs

We also encourage applications from people with experience as Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers.

What you’ll do:

  • Support pupils 1-1 or in small groups
  • Prepare learning materials
  • Adapt teaching support according to students' needs
  • Look after children’s physical, social, and emotional welfare
