  • Adapting learning materials and activities to meet individual pupil needs, under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Supporting pupils with communication strategies. Promoting positive behaviour and developing social skills through consistent strategies.
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and other professionals.
  • Contributing to a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, therapists, and other support staff.

Requirements:

  • Significant and proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant specifically within a SEND primary school setting or with primary-aged children with complex special educational needs.
  • A strong understanding of various SEND conditions and effective strategies to support learning and development.
  • Experience with communication aids or strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton) is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to be proactive, adaptable, and a team player. Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through us.
  • A robust commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children.
  • Ultimate Flexibility: Work on daily supply, choosing the days that suit your schedule.
  • Potential for Long-Term: Daily roles frequently lead to opportunities for more extended placements.
  • Specialised Roles: Opportunities to work exclusively within dedicated SEND primary schools.
  • Competitive Daily Rates: Recognising your specialist skills and experience.
  • September 2025 Start: Plan your next career move with confidence.
  • Variety of Experience: Work with diverse needs and year groups within specialist primary settings.
