Academics Supply Agency is looking for a dedicated SEND Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in a variety of secondary schools. If you are committed to making a positive impact on students' lives and want to support their learning and development, we want to hear from you!



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tailored learning plans to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support students in classroom activities, ensuring they engage and participate fully in lessons.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff to ensure effective learning.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Understanding of a range of SEND needs (e.g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • A willingness to undertake further training as required (e.g., behaviour management, autism awareness, etc.).
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
