SEND Teaching Assistant

£415 – £500 a week.

Connex are currently looking for a team of dedicated and empathetic SEND Teaching Assistants to join the team and help make a real difference in the lives of children with SEND. If you are a proactive, patient, and compassionate individual, we invite you to apply and be a part of our school community located right in the heart of Penn, Wolverhampton. This role includes supporting classes with mixed age groups across KS1 and KS2 and varied needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Assist with creating and delivering tailored learning plans that suit the needs of individual students.
  • Help manage and adapt the learning environment to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all students.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement effective strategies for progress.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing in SEND students.
  • Support students in developing social skills and participating in classroom activities.

Role Requirements
  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent Level 3 UK Educational qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience working with SEN Students would be desirable.
  • Team Teach trained would also be desirable.
  • Previous experience working in Educational is essential.
  • A commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom.
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
