Job Description:

SEND Teaching Assistant

Milk Education is working with a Special Educational Needs Primary School in Wigan (WN4) seeking a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged children with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role is full-time, hours are 08:30 am - 2:45 pm, Monday to Friday. It is a temporary, on-going position starting as soon as possible, initially week-to-week, with potential for a long-term role.

The ideal candidate is patient, nurturing, and accommodating to all children's learning needs. Responsibilities include supporting children to stay on task, ensuring work quality, preparing resources, and meeting individual needs.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children according to their individual needs
  • Assist in lesson planning, evaluation, and adjustments
  • Deliver catch-up sessions
