What You’ll Be Doing

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Adapt the Curriculum: Tailor lessons and activities to meet the diverse learning needs of students with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
  • Provide Targeted Support: Work one-on-one and in small groups to provide focused teaching and intervention for students with SEND.
  • Track and Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback and adjusting teaching methods to support their development.
  • Foster an Inclusive Environment: Create an environment where every student feels safe, valued, and supported to learn and grow.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with teaching assistants, external specialists, and other school staff to ensure the best possible support is in place for students.
  • Engage with Parents and Carers: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and involving them in the support process.
  • Promote Social and Emotional Development: Help students build confidence, self-esteem, and social skills to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a SEND Teacher who:

  • Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience in teaching and supporting students with SEND and a strong understanding of their individual needs.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to creating an inclusive classroom where all students can thrive.
  • Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Is a team player, willing to collaborate and share ideas to provide the best support for students.
  • Shows flexibility and adaptability, with a proactive approach to meeting the needs of each student.
  • Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential, regardless of their challenges.
