Overview

SEND Teacher - Autism, SLD, PMLD – Location: Swindon

Elementa are recruiting for an experienced SEND Teacher to work at a special school setting for children aged 11-19, with additional needs relating to autism, MLD and PMLD. All of the children have an EHCP for their conditions. Ofsted has graded the school as ‘Good’ overall and the school is part of a large, well-managed trust and well-resourced.

This role is to provide support across KS3 – 5 classes. It could suit an ECT with prior experience supporting SEND learners, however the role cannot support ECT induction.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and support teaching across KS3–KS5 for learners with SEND (autism, MLD, PMLD).
  • Support class sizes of 10–12 students with approximately 5 adults in the classroom.
  • Contribute to delivering a broad curriculum that includes outdoor learning and supports varied needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a positive, collaborative staff team within a modern school environment.
Essential criteria / Qualifications
  • Available full-time
  • Must hold UK QTS
  • Previous UK teaching experience and familiarity with the UK curriculum
  • Experience supporting learners with Autism
  • Based in the UK and available to interview in person
  • Right to Work in the UK (no employer sponsorship required)
