Overview

TeacherActive is delighted to be working with an exceptionial SEND school that empowers and inspires their students every day. This school provides a high standard of education and focuses on primary and secondary students with Auttism and SEMH and provides them with a daily structure and routine to ensure the best learning environment for their individual needs.

The school is looking for a determined SEND Teacher with the potential of a permanent position. The successful SEND Teacher will be confident and adaptable in working with students with year 5 and 6 kids with ASC and SEMH needs helping them to meet their milestones and giving them 1 to 1 support. The applicant would also have to be well equipped to deal with challenging behaviours and managing the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ASC/ASC and SEMH needs (years 5 and 6).
• Maintain a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment and manage challenging behaviours.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with autism and SEMH.

Qualifications

• a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Enhanced DBS (required) or willing to apply for one
• Experience working with ASC
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
• A good understanding of child and adult protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
• Excellent classroom management
