Start Date: October 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-time, Long-term / Permanent

The School

Philosophy Education are working in partnership with a forward-thinking special school dedicated to meeting the needs of pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every learner is encouraged to achieve their full potential through a highly personalised curriculum, therapeutic support, and creative teaching approaches.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a skilled and supportive team. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to a small class of pupils with complex needs. With support from experienced teaching assistants, therapists, and the leadership team, you will help ensure that pupils make progress not only academically but also socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons tailored to PMLD/SLD learners.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and therapists to meet individual EHCP targets.
  • Use a range of communication systems (PECS, Makaton, AAC) to support learning.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, celebrating small steps of achievement.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with experience or a strong interest in SEND.
  • Knowledge of complex needs education, particularly PMLD and SLD.
  • Patience, creativity, and a positive approach to behaviour and learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
