Job summary

The Ryes College & Community, part of Keys Education, is hiring a SEND Teacher at The Ryes College, Assington near Sudbury. We are an Ofsted Good school committed to inclusive education. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for pupils with complex needs, working with psychologists and therapists. QTS/QTLS and at least two years’ SEND experience are required. You will contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, and engage in ongoing professional development.

Purpose of Role

To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help students with a range of special educational needs
  • Help students access Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education and achieve their very best
  • Experience teaching through a spiral programme, revisiting concepts and topic areas, each time extending knowledge, deepening understanding and developing skills
  • Working alongside relevant internal and external professionals such as psychologists and therapists
Requirements
  • A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
  • At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
  • QTS/QTLS is a requirement
