Job summary

An established industry player is on the lookout for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their Hull branch. This exciting role involves working with KS3 & KS4 students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) within an Alternative Provision. You will be responsible for developing tailored education plans, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs, and collaborating with teaching assistants to ensure the best outcomes for students. Qualifications

  • At least 6 months experience in SEN or alternative provisions.
  • Experience with secondary students in SEN or mainstream settings.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with TAs and understanding warning signs.

About GSL Education’s Hull Branch

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEND Teacher to work with KS3 & KS4 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) at an Alternative Provision in Hull.

About The School
  • Specializes in students with SEMH and other SEND.
  • Provides tailored education to enhance personal development, self-esteem, and understanding of the world.
  • Facilities include medical and therapy rooms meeting regulatory standards.
  • Planning for growth and aligning with independent school standards.
SEND Teacher Responsibilities
  • Teaching students with SEMH needs in groups.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing IEPs with realistic targets.
  • Assessing work and tracking progress.
  • Adapting teaching methods to individual needs.
  • Collaborating with TAs and understanding warning signs and triggers.
  • Following Education Health Care Plans to meet outcomes.
  • Experience with Educational Psychology, CAMHS, or Therapists is advantageous but not essential.
SEN Teacher Requirements
  • UK QTS or PGCE.
  • At least 6 months experience in SEN or alternative provisions.
  • Experience with secondary students in SEN or mainstream settings.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Team player contributing to school success.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or willingness to obtain one.

This role requires strong safeguarding knowledge and background checks, including an enhanced DBS.
