Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking experienced SEND tutors and teachers in the UK to support children and young people with SEND and SEMH.

Roles can be in person, hybrid or remote, with flexible hours and ongoing interviews. Candidates should have QTS/QTLS, 2+ years of teaching experience, enhanced DBS, and be based in the UK.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of teaching experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) required

Responsibilities

  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEND/SEMH needs
  • Support pupils by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • Contribute to raising the standard of education for SEND and SEMH learners

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
