Job summary

Aspiring SEND Teaching Assistant role in Scunthorpe with Aspire People. You will support children aged 5–16 with autism in a specialist school, working 8:30am–3:30pm during term time. Immediate start available for a caring, enthusiastic candidate who can adapt to a busy school environment.

The position offers a long-term opportunity with potential to become permanent, with competitive daily pay and DBS/reference checks completed for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Patient, compassionate and enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs.
• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable.
• A qualified Teaching Assistant or relevant TA qualification is desirable.
• Understanding of autism and related conditions, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 5–16 with autism and related conditions.
• Assist teaching staff to implement lessons and activities.
• Support pupils' communication, confidence, independence and social skills.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure DBS checks and required documents are up to date.
