A well-known education agency in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in an educational setting, particularly with SEND and SEMH students, and must be adaptable, patient, and compassionate. The role involves working closely with children who may have challenging behaviors and requires a full-time commitment.

We are looking for a dedicated professional that has experience working with SEND students, that would be able to support in both primary and Secondary SEND school settings.
Position: SEND/SEMH Teaching assistant
Location: Chesterfield S41 and S43
Experience: Must have UK based experience working with children, ideally in an education setting
Experience working with Social, emotional and Mental health needs (SEMH) and other Special educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. MUST drive
Availability: Full time, long term
What does the role involve:
No two children are the same, so being a SEND TA requires flexibility and strong communication skills. This role is supporting children that may have complex and challenging behaviours.
The role requires attention to detail, patience and a non-judgemental approach, and it is important to be resilient and passionate about supporting each child's needs.

Supporting teachers in the classroom
Working 1:1 with children
Working with small groups
Managing classroom resources
Managing heightened behaviours and keeping children safe
Creating a positive and safe environment for all learners
