Job summary

Stretham Community Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming team on a part-time basis. The role focuses on 1:1 support for children with SEND and includes lunchtime supervision, helping pupils feel secure and valued within a caring school family.

You will collaborate with teachers to provide targeted support, nurture confidence and independence, and adapt to individual learner needs while upholding safeguarding standards across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting is desirable.
• Demonstrates safeguarding commitment and ability to build trusted relationships.
• Is patient, compassionate and able to respond to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for children with SEND to promote learning and wellbeing.
• Work with teachers to deliver targeted classroom support and activities.
• Supervise and support children across the school at lunchtimes.
• Identify and celebrate individual strengths to build confidence and resilience.
