We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Student Support Workers to work for our partner SEND schools that are seeking new staff for the next academic year.

A Student Support Worker plays a crucial role in providing tailored assistance and guidance to students with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum, participate in school activities, and achieve their academic and personal goals.

Responsibilities:

·Provide one-on-one support to students with SEND, assisting them with academic tasks, personal care, and social integration.

·Work closely with teaching staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and accommodations to meet students' specific needs.

·Support students with developing essential skills such as communication, independence, and self-regulation.

·Assist with the assessment and monitoring of student progress, recording and reporting on achievements and areas for development.

·Collaborate with parents, external professionals, and other members of the school community to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

·Help to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and social interaction among students.

·Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering their confidence and self-esteem.

Requirements:

·Previous experience working with students with SEND or in a similar support role is highly desirable.

·Knowledge of different types of SEND, as well as strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.

·Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and succeed.

·Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently, with a proactive and flexible approach to tasks.

·A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.

·Relevant qualifications or training in areas such as Special Educational Needs, Childcare, or Social Work are advantageous.
