Sessions total 15 hours per week and require building trust, monitoring progress, and maintaining attendance records to support the student’s development.

Job description

SEND Specialist Tutor

We are seeking a SEND Tutor who can provide consistent, structured and engaging sessions tailored to the individual needs of a student with complex needs. The primary focus of this role is to re-engage the student with learning, build trust, and support their emotional wellbeing and personal development.

Tuition will be delivered on a 1:1 basis for 15 hours per week, ideally during school hours. You will also be required to complete weekly reports to track engagement, progress, behaviour and wellbeing, helping to ensure the student remains on track and receives the appropriate support.

Contract/Position Details:

• Location - Sunderland
  Position - SEND Specialist Tutor (SEMH & Complex Needs)
  Type of work - Contract
  Start date - ASAP
  Setting - Student's home or local community setting (e.g. learning hub/library)
  Duration - Ongoing, until a suitable school placement is secured
  Contract type - Temporary
  Hours - 15 hours per week
  Rate of pay - up to 30 per hour (negotiable)
