Job Title: Specialist SEND Support Assistant

Location: Swindon

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: GBP80 - GBP120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEMH school in Swindon, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Support Assistant. This setting provides specialised and tailored support for each student, working collaboratively with parents and carers to promote elevated targets, progress, and achievement. The school upholds a high standard of education, placing emphasised importance on the provision of social, emotional and mental health-centred programmes that help students to thrive and reach their full potential.

The school is seeking a driven and knowledgeable SEND Support Assistant to take on this long-term role, with potential for this to become a permanent placement for the right candidate. The successful SEND Support Assistant will bring a unique and adaptable skill set, with the ability to overcome challenges and positively mentor behaviour across the school environment.

The position will involve working with secondary students who require guidance and mentorship in developing key skills, such as emotional literacy and maturity, to support their individual social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
2. Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
3. Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
4. Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
