Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Pastoral / Care Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Chippenham. You will support pupils across KS3/KS4 with pastoral and emotional backing, helping to manage challenging behaviour alongside teachers.

The role is full-time and on-site, with immediate start and temporary status. Salary between £14.25 and £16.50 per hour, plus CPD and 24/7 onboarding support.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable).
• Experience with SEND, SEMH, autism/ASD or challenging behaviour.
• Experience in school, residential care or specialist support setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and positive behaviour management strategies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable in supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral and emotional support to pupils across KS3/KS4.
• Support teaching staff to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour and safeguarding in school.
