The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with various SEND needs, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of alternative communication methods. Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND, including MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI.
  • Dedicated, supportive, excellent communicator, passionate about SEND education.
  • Experience with communication methods such as Makaton, BSL, or PECS is advantageous.

SEND Primary Teacher required in Stockton-on-Tees, with a daily rate of £130-£150. The start date for this position is November 2025.

The School and Role

The ideal teacher will develop a stimulating and challenging environment within the teaching area. The school is looking for individuals who can promote pupils' interest and learning using a cross-curricular approach.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND, including MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI, and other complex needs.
  • Be dedicated, supportive, an excellent communicator, and passionate about working with students with SEND.
  • Experience with Makaton, British Sign Language, and/or PECS would be an advantage, as many pupils have limited verbal communication skills.
