Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Rochdale, Greater Manchester is seeking a PPA/SEND Teacher to provide PPA cover across an SEN setting. The role supports pupils with complex needs, including severe learning difficulties and autism, across KS1-KS2.

You will plan, differentiate, and deliver engaging lessons, liaising with SEN staff and families to ensure consistent practice and progression for students with diverse communication needs. Prior experience in SEN is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching in an SEN setting (or strong SEN knowledge within a mainstream environment).
• Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to classroom management.
• Confidence planning and delivering lessons independently across a range of abilities and needs.
• Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to nurturing every child's progress.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, personalised lessons across classes during PPA cover, planning and preparing engaging lesson content in advance
• Adapt and differentiate planning to meet EHCP outcomes, developmental milestones, and sensory requirements
• Support pupils' holistic development-academic, social, emotional, and communication skills-during cover sessions
• Liaise closely with class teachers, the SENCO, learning support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent and effective approach
• Feed back on pupil engagement and progress following each session
