Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Rochdale is seeking an experienced PPA/SEND Teacher to provide high-quality planning, preparation and assessment cover across a well-established mixed KS1-KS2 setting. The pupils have complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and SEMH, with varied communication approaches such as Signalong, PODD, and PECS.

You will differentiate planning to meet EHCP outcomes, support holistic development, and work closely with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and families

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching in an SEN setting or strong SEN knowledge.
• Calm, empathetic, and resilient classroom management.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons independently across abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, personalised lessons across classes during PPA cover.
• Adapt and differentiate planning to meet EHCP outcomes and developmental milestones.
• Support pupils' holistic development—academic, social, emotional, and communication skills.
• Liaise with class teachers, the SENCO, learning support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent approach.
• Provide feedback on pupil engagement and progress after each session.
