Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable SEND PE Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact through physical education? A dedicated special school in Chelmsford is seeking a passionate teacher to lead inclusive, engaging PE lessons from September 2025. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to work with students who have a range of special educational needs, promoting movement, confidence, and wellbeing.

You’ll deliver lessons that are both structured and flexible, focusing on physical development, motor skills, teamwork, and self-esteem. The ideal candidate will be calm, creative, and able to differentiate physical activities to meet the varied needs of learners with ASD, MLD, and SEMH.

With competitive daily rates, a strong team environment, and a setting that values care as much as curriculum, this is a rewarding role for a PE teacher who thrives on connection and challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver inclusive PE lessons tailored to a range of SEND profiles.
  • Promote physical health, coordination, teamwork, and resilience.
  • Adapt lessons for individual physical and emotional needs.
  • Encourage participation through creative, fun, and purposeful activities.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and therapists.
  • Maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
  • Contribute to whole-school activities, sports events, and EHCP planning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • QTS and a degree in PE or a related field (essential).
  • Experience working in a SEND or special school setting (preferred).
  • Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills.
  • Understanding of physical development in students with SEND.
  • A calm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
