Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a committed Mathematics/Economics Tutor to join a SEND-focused Independent Specialist School in Totnes from October 2026. This full-time, temp-to-perm role offers a supportive environment and the chance to contribute to pupil progress.

You will deliver 1:1 Mathematics and Economics learning up to A-level standard, plan, deliver and assess learning, and work closely with colleagues, support staff and parents to create an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Requires Mathematics or Economics teaching or tutoring experience, or strong Mathematics subject knowledge.
• Demonstrates competency in Mathematics/Economics knowledge and ability to apply it in tutoring/teaching.

Axcis Education are working closely to support a well-supported Independent Specialist School in Totnes, who are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Mathematics/Economics Tutor to join their team from October 2026.

Key Details

• Location: Totnes
• Start Date: October 2026 (As Soon As Possible)
• Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
• Salary: £25,550-£33,200 depending on qualifications and experience
• Requirement: Mathematics or Economics teaching or tutoring experience, or strong Mathematics subject knowledge

Role

• Delivering 1:1 Mathematics/Economics Learning, including to A-level standard
• Planning, delivering, and assessing learning
• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Working closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents

Ideal Candidate

• Is very competent with their Mathematics/Economics subject knowledge
• Has experience tutoring or teaching Mathematics/Economics on a 1:1 or group basis
• Demonstrates strong relationship building skills, particularly for students with SEND
• Is passionate, proactive, and committed to pupil progress
• Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life
