Job summary

Axcis Education invites applications for a SEND Lunchtime Assistant in Sutton, South London. The role supports pupils with SEND during lunchtime, promoting safety and inclusion during school hours.

The ideal candidate has experience with SEND, ASD, ADHD or PMLD, and is patient, empathetic and good at communicating with children and staff. This is a temporary to permanent role with term-time hours 11am-2pm.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEN, ASD, ADHD, or PMLD.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support pupils with SEND during lunchtime.
• Support children with ASD, ADHD, PMLD, and additional learning needs.
• Assist with personal care, including eating, drinking, and toileting when required.
• Encourage independence, communication, and social interaction.
• Support pupils in accessing play, leisure, and outdoor activities safely.
• Monitor pupil wellbeing and respond appropriately to behavioural or emotional needs.
• Work closely with school staff to maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
