Activate Learning seeks an enthusiastic SEND Tutor at Bracknell & Wokingham College. In this part-time, permanent role, you will support learners with special educational needs by teaching essential skills for independence and work readiness, fostering confidence and development in a supportive environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and inspiring SEND tutor to join our Lifeskills faculty based at Bracknell & Wokingham College. Our team supports learners who face barriers to education, and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
In this role, you may teach on two provisions:
Tier 2: Pathway to Independence and Supported Work
This programme provides for the needs of individuals with severe to moderate learning difficulties who want to continue building essential skills for living, employment and community together with independence and personal development.
Tier 3: Pathway for Progression
This programme provides a stepping stone for learners to progress on to further studies and prepare for the world of work in a supported college environment. The programme builds confidence and further develops social communication skills by providing opportunities for learners to independently apply skills and knowledge learnt in a range of settings.
Both programmes include English and Maths sessions, with learners working at levels from Pre-Entry to GCSE.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 22.2 hours per week (0.60 FTE) at Bracknell & Wokingham College.
What do you need to be a successful SEND / LLDD Tutor at Activate Learning?
We are looking for someone who can be a positive role model, flexible, creative and support learners in developing the skills, attitudes and mindset they need to thrive in life and the workplace. You’ll need a genuine interest in working with young people and the ability to understand and support a wide range of learning needs.
Experience in careers education, wellness, and teaching English or Maths is desirable but experience of delivering and supporting learners working towards their EHCP targets and the Preparation for Adulthood (PFA) framework outcomes, is essential, but you don’t need to be a qualified teacher to apply. If you bring relevant experience and the right mindset, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed in the further education sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a tutor with passion and drive, committed to helping learners build confidence, independence, and the skills they need for adulthood.
