SEND Lecturer - London - September Start


We are working with a respected Further Education college in London as they prepare to recruit an Hourly Paid SEND Lecturer, with the role expected to begin in September on a temporary ongoing basis.

The college is currently running an internal recruitment process. Once that has concluded, the vacancy will be passed to us. We are therefore seeking early interest from qualified professionals passionate about guiding learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Further Education and Training environment.

The Role:

As a SEND Lecturer, you will:

  • Plan and deliver learner-centred sessions to students with a wide range of SEND needs.
  • Guide students' individual learning goals and promote progression, independence and personal development.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners within a Further Education and Training setting.
  • Work with LSA staff and maintain accurate records of learner progress.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in education and/or SEND (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, Level 5/7 SEND qualification, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience supporting or teaching learners with SEND needs.
  • Strong communication and planning skills, with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - this is essential.
