Job summary

Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Manager to lead and coordinate the school's SEND provision. You will work with the SENCO, teaching staff and external professionals to ensure high-quality, coordinated support for students with SEND, enabling full participation and progress across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a secondary school.
• Strong understanding of inclusive education and barriers faced by SEND students.
• Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with young people, including those with complex needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff, families and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee deployment of Learning Support Assistants and other support staff.
• Work with the SENCO to identify, plan and review SEND interventions.
• Support EHCPs, student support plans and personalised provision.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, engagement and wellbeing; identify where extra support is needed.
• Liaise with teachers to promote inclusive teaching strategies and practice.
• Build relationships with students and provide practical pastoral and academic support.
• Communicate with parents/carers and contribute to review meetings.
• Coordinate interventions and evaluate their impact.
• Maintain SEND records and contribute to statutory school documentation.
• Support transition arrangements between key stages and post-16 planning.
• Contribute to an inclusive school culture where SEND students become confident, independent learners.
