Overview

A well-known further education college in London is looking for Learning Support Assistants to provide in-class support to students taking vocational/foundation courses. The college has a large provision for students, some who have just left secondary school and others who are taking vocational courses. Some students have SEND (moderate needs), which may include autism and ADHD.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class 1-to-1 support to a student.
  • Support students with SEND (moderate needs).
  • Work with students in vocational and foundation courses such as ESOL, Foundation and Supported Learning, hairdressing, Computing and IT, Beauty and Therapy, Accounting and Bookkeeping, English and Maths.
  • Support experience with young people and a positive and caring attitude.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 or Level 3 (preferred) in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Experience in working with young people.
The Centre

The college has centres in Enfield, Tottenham, Kings Cross, Camden, Finsbury Park, Victoria, Soho and Regents Park. It is one of the largest post-16 college groups in London. The college offers experienced management and staff, and strong training and development programmes. The Centre operates mainly during term-time and is easily accessible via public transport.
