Job summary

GSL Education is hiring a Learning Support Assistant in Maidstone, Kent. The role involves supporting pupils with SEND through one-to-one and small-group activities, helping them access learning and build confidence daily.

You will work with teachers to plan personalised goals, reinforce learning strategies, and foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment across various settings.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• One-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning activities.
• Encourage development of communication, social skills and independence.
• Provide reassurance to pupils facing unfamiliar or challenging situations.
• Support pupils with additional needs including autism, ADHD, sensory and SEMH needs.
• Work with teachers and other professionals toward individual learning goals.
• Promote engagement, celebrate progress and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Adapt support to reflect each child's individual needs and abilities.
