Our client is a very successful, multi-site Alternative Provision serving primary-aged learners in the Calne area of Wiltshire. They are preparing to open a site in Swindon and are seeking experienced and/or qualified education staff to join their new team. We are looking for someone with previous experience who can act as a positive role model to young children. Applications from candidates with experience working with children who have SEMH, are experiencing trauma, or display challenging behaviour and other SEND areas are welcome. Although prior SEND experience in an education setting is preferred, other relevant experience may be considered.
Currently, their well-established AP has expanded; sites are bright and inviting learning environments. They have built a friendly, hard-working, dedicated and collaborative staff team. Pupils work on a rotation basis so all staff will work in small groups or 1:1 with every pupil at some point. The AP leads heavily with a THRIVE approach and also with music therapy. Building on their successes, they are offering a coaching & mentoring approach to upper KS2 pupils to prepare them for secondary school. They also have a thriving Forest School and outdoor education programme to enhance pupil engagement and offer outreach opportunities and services to local primary schools.
The plan is to use the existing successful service as a template for the new site in Swindon, so if you want to work in a SEND-specific setting in a positive environment, this is the job for you.
If you have training in positive behaviour management (such as Team Teach) and/or THRIVE, we would be very interested in hearing from you. If you have practical experience of working with children displaying challenging behaviour and are successful in your application, Team Teach training will be offered free of charge.
It would be great to hear from you if you have…
This is a full-time permanent opportunity which will start on a 60 paid-day basis and will become permanent on successful completion of the trial period. This is a great opportunity for anyone seeking training opportunities and to be part of a supportive school with expansion plans in the near future.
Elementa will be managing all applicants and screening their suitability for the school. Elementa are not a supply agency; we are a schools services & recruiting partner to schools. We will manage candidate vetting & compliance and process payroll on behalf of the school whilst on a trial contract. It is likely that the school will engage the successful candidate on a trial contract through Elementa (60-day contract, paid to scale from the outset) to assess suitability and confirm permanent engagement. Therefore, applicants being considered after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa, including full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.
If you have the relevant skills and experience necessary for this role, please apply with your full up-to-date CV. All applicants will be promptly responded to.
