Job summary

A respected SEN Trust is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across their campuses. This full-time role allows for a meaningful impact in education, offering training and experience for future roles in teaching or therapy.

Qualifications

  • Must have Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Condition and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism and SEMH needs.
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback.

Overview

SEN Teaching Assistant — Location: campuses across Enfield and Edmonton (you will only be based at one site); Start Date: ASAP; Daily Rate: £105 per day; Contract Type: Long-term, temp to perm, full-time

An outstanding and highly respected SEN Trust with multiple campuses across Enfield and Edmonton is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Key stage preference can be accomodated (operating from EYFS to Further Education).

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism and SEMH needs
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
  • Help maintain a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support each student's individual education plan (IEP)
  • Contribute to daily routines, enrichment activities, and school events
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC and/or SEMH
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Calm, resilient, and patient nature
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and follow direction
  • Willingness to learn and engage with training opportunities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
