Job description

  • Position: Learning Support Assistant

We are currently working with an excellent SEND school in Barnet, who are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school as soon as possible. The school supports children and young people from the ages of 4 to 19.

The Role

You will be working with children aged between 4 and 19, all with Special Education Needs. Most of the children you will be working with have limited communication skills, Autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and some are completely non-verbal.

You will be assisting more than one class, supporting several children across the school, rather than working 1:1 with any particular child.

Over the course of the academic year, you will support the pupils in engaging and achieving their potential.

The School

The school caters for a wide range of educational needs, from moderate learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders to more severe and profound learning disabilities, as well as physical disabilities. They work with their students on all aspects of their development to help them reach their potential.

The school has been accredited by the National Autistic Society. This accreditation confirms their commitment to meeting the needs and providing a supportive environment for pupils on the autism spectrum.
