Job summary

Northumberland County Council’s Northumberland Skills Service is seeking a committed Job Coach to support learners with SEND to develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to progress into employment, apprenticeships, further education, and adult life.

Working closely with learners, curriculum staff, employers, families, and external agencies, you will identify and remove barriers to learning and employment, provide tailored coaching and mentoring, support learners in work placements

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND in education or training settings.
• Ability to develop personalised progression plans and track learner progress.
• Strong communication with learners, families, staff and external partners.
• Understanding of safeguarding requirements and SEND legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored coaching and mentoring to learners with SEND.
• Support learners in work placements and workplace settings.
• Collaborate with employers to promote inclusive employment opportunities.
• Develop progression plans and monitor learner progress toward employment or further learning.
