Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking an SEND Information, Advice and Support Worker in Chelmsford to provide impartial, confidential information, advice and support to children, young people and parents on SEN and disabilities.

You will work with families to understand their rights, empower them to participate in decisions, and collaborate with education, health and social care colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications

• Impartial, confidential information, advice and support about education, health and social care for children, young people and parents.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and rights for families.
• Ability to support and empower parents and young people to participate in decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Deliver impartial information and advice to families on education provision for SEND.
• Collaborate with SEND IASS team and cross-agency partners to secure positive outcomes.
• Manage a defined caseload with up-to-date records and data.
