Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND school in Darlington to recruit a dedicated SEND ICT Teacher. The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally, with a strong focus on meeting individual learning needs and helping every student succeed.

The school is looking to appoint a permanent SEND ICT Teacher from September.

Qualifications

• QTS with ICT specialism.
• Experience teaching in a SEND setting.
• Experience supporting children and young people with additional needs such as ASD, SEMH and complex learning needs.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging ICT lessons across Key Stages 1 to 5.
• Adapt learning to individual abilities and promote independence.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
• Support safeguarding and DBS compliance across placements.

The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally, with a strong focus on meeting individual learning needs and helping every student succeed.

The school is looking to appoint a permanent SEND ICT Teacher from September. The successful SEND ICT Teacher will deliver engaging ICT lessons across Key Stages 1 to 5, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs by adapting learning to individual abilities, promoting independence, and working closely with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for every learner.

The successful SEND ICT Teacher will have:

• QTS with an ICT specialism
• Previous experience teaching in a SEND setting
• Experience supporting children and young people with additional needs such as ASD, SEMH and complex learning needs
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A positive, patient and flexible approach to teaching
