Merrylands Primary School and Nursery has an exciting opportunity for a SEND High Needs Learning Support Assistant to join our fantastic team in September 2025.
The position is for 32.5 hours per week, 8:30am to 3:30pm with a 30 minute break, Monday to Friday. Term time only for 39 weeks a year (including 5 inset days)
Salary Scale 4-5 (Range 7 to 12). Actual Salary£19,797 to £20,418 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. (Includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are looking to appoint a SEND LSA to work as part of our fantastic team in the Autism Hub and NEST Provision supporting our complex needs and autistic pupils, to ensure pupils are fully integrated into school life, support their individual needs; social, emotional, communication, academic and physical.
There will be an expectation for the post holder to complete the Advanced Practitioner for Autism course or similar.

· has high expectations of the children and themselves with a passion for raising standards and attainment
· can think creatively to engage, enthuse and motivate children to learn
· is passionate about supporting all pupils, demonstrating empathy and understanding of different needs
· is confident and able to work with pupils with challenging needs, including social and emotional needs/behaviours
· has a good understanding of the primary curriculum and skills to assist pupils in developing a good standard of attainment
· has a good understanding of how to support children with pastoral needs
· is confident and able to support pupils in small groups and 1:1
· works well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice.
