Job summary

Quantum Scholars are seeking a patient, experienced SEND English Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one tuition for secondary-aged learners in Hereford. You will adapt your teaching style and resources to meet individual needs, creating a calm, supportive environment that helps learners build confidence in English.

Experience supporting students with barriers to mainstream education is highly desirable. This in-person role requires safeguarding commitment and close collaboration with parents

Qualifications

• Strong English subject knowledge at secondary level.
• Experience teaching or tutoring English.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.
• Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
• The right to work in the UK.

Quantum Scholars are looking for a patient, supportive and experienced SEND English Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one tuition to secondary-aged young people in Hereford.

The successful tutor will have strong English subject knowledge and experience supporting learners with SEND. You will be confident adapting your teaching style, pace and resources to meet individual learning needs, while creating a calm and positive environment where the learner can build confidence and engage with English.

Experience supporting young people who have experienced barriers to mainstream education, anxiety, school avoidance, disengagement or SEMH needs would be highly desirable.

This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.

The Role May Involve

• Providing personalised one-to-one English tuition to secondary-aged learners.
• Supporting learners with SEND and individual learning needs.

Essential Requirements

• Strong English subject knowledge at secondary level.
• Experience teaching or tutoring English.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience providing one-to-one or personalised educational support is desirable.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.
• Experience supporting learners who may have barriers to mainstream education is desirable.
• A patient, calm, flexible and empathetic approach.
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Confidence supporting learners who may be reluctant, anxious or disengaged from education.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable and consistent approach to work.
