A leading school in Swindon is looking for an English Teacher to support students with special educational needs. The role offers a positive environment and opportunities for professional development. Ideal candidates will have SEND experience and a commitment to student success.
Elementa are recruiting for an able English Teacher to work at this special school & PRU based in Swindon. The school provides education across their sites for learners that have ASD/ASC (Autism), SEMH, and other complex needs, as well as for children that have been permanently excluded from school. Often, all of their children display challenging behaviors.
Despite the challenges their learners face, the school has high expectations and nurtures and supports them. Applicants with Team Teach training or other positive behavior management training may have an advantage; however, free training will be provided for the successful applicant. The school operates on a transparent and collaborative basis between staff and the senior leadership team.
Ideas are shared, and everyone has the opportunity to enhance the working environment and student opportunities. Overall, this is a highly positive environment for both staff and students.
If you are a skilled English Teacher seeking an opportunity to make a clear difference to students while working alongside a strong teaching and support staff team, this is the role for you.
Applicants should have good previous SEND experience and knowledge, particularly in SEMH and ASD/ASC, and how to adapt the education approach to ensure high-quality learning. Non-subject specialist teachers can be considered if they have good previous English teaching experience and can engage learners and deliver high-quality lessons.
