Job description

We currently have a position for a SEND Early Years Educator who is interested in supporting pupils with additional needs in the Leeds area.

You will be working with pupils with Autism and other Special Educational Needs. Lessons are tailored to the pupils' ability, usually with 5-10 pupils in a class. The lessons are fun and creative with play-based learning.

As a SEND Early Years Educator, you will be involved in sensory lessons, soft play sessions, outdoor activities, Speech and Language sessions, and sessions with other 3rd party providers. School hours are 8:45 – 3:30 – we welcome full-time and part-time people to apply.

The ideal applicant:
  1. Will be passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
  2. Creative and dynamic with a passion for promoting development through play
  3. Will have an EYFS qualification, childcare qualification, or degree
  4. Able to promote a safe learning environment for young people

We will offer training and support in the position. Everyone who works for us is required to complete Safeguarding Training. Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education, you will be paid on a weekly basis.
