Job description

Are you an education expert? We are currently seeking to represent an experienced SEND specialist senior leader for an interim Leadership Consultant job in Kidderminster, West Midlands (DY14). If you are a SEND (MLD or PMLD) specialist who is available immediately or from September 2025, we would be keen to speak with you.

If you are an experienced senior leader who has worked within a SEND (SLD or PMLD) setting across either primary or secondary phases this role may be for you. The role is offered as an interim, full-time post based at a small, alternative provision school. Your key role will be to support the current leadership team to create stability and assist with the development of practices. Typically, the site caters for pupils aged 7-17 with SEND requirements such as severe learning difficulties and/or profound and multiple learning difficulties and class sizes are small (5-6). An informal meeting via Teams will be offered as a starting point for you to gain a full understanding of the school and ethos of the trust. This would then be followed with a tour of the site and a meeting with the Headteacher and Regional Director.

This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners. If you are of a similar mindset and ethos, we would be very happy to discuss the role in more detail.

In order to be successfully shortlisted in any of your applications with us we will require the following:

A relevant UK based teaching and/or leadership qualification.
Substantial experience working with pupils with SLD or PMLD within an education setting.
All required documents for safer recruitment processing including, but not limited to a valid right to work proof and a valid Enhanced DBS.
Exceptional references.

Proposed start date: Immediate or September 2025
Salary: Dependant on experience (£250 to £300 per day)
Date posted: 17.06.25
Application closing date: 15.07.25
