SEND Classroom Teacher (Middle School) - ASC, SEMH Type: Permanent Hours: Full-Time Location: Bridgwater Start: 01/05/2025 Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP44,870

Elementa are recruiting for an SEND Classroom Teacher to work with students aged across middle school banding at this special school for children with SEND predominantly relating to ASC and SEMH. This specialist education provider supports students across the primary and secondary phases and use a therapeutic approach to supporting learners. All students have an EHCP which commonly relates to any/all of SEMH, ASC and anxiety. The organisation focus on a holistic and creative education approach in order for learners to achieve their full potential whilst in this special school.

The school has been completely renovated within the last 3 years and offer a stunning workplace. They support learners aged between 5 - 18 The school operates over 2 sites, have an onsite farm and the latest addition is an onsite coffee shop.

The successful applicant will be expected to safeguard students welfare, promote and support the educational and therapeutic needs of the students, contribute to curriculum meetings and the whole school development plan, collaborate with learning support staff and prepare bespoke resources.

The SEND Classroom Teacher (Middle School) will plan and deliver a creative curriculum which includes PSHE, Horticulture, Home Cooking, Animal skills and PE.

ECTs can be considered for this role provided they are able to demonstrate significant previous & relevant SEND experience. Induction can be supported although potentially not from the outset (i.e. at a future time.)

This role is not suitable for candidates/applicants:

  • Without UK teaching experience
  • Without UK SEND experience

A clear DBS is desirable but not a barrier to being considered.
