Job summary

Woodfield School in Merstham, Surrey, is seeking enthusiastic Classroom Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND in a specialist secondary setting and Post-16 provision. This role centres on helping learners build confidence, develop independence and enjoy learning.

You will work with teachers, adapt support to different needs, promote wellbeing and positive behaviour, and contribute observations to the teaching team. Safeguarding and safer recruitment are integral to the process.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ learning in class, individually and in small groups.
• Adapt support to pupils’ different learning and communication needs.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
• Support engagement, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Share observations about pupils’ progress with the teaching team.
• Work flexibly across classes and activities as needs and staffing require.
