Job summary

A local authority organization is seeking a SEND Business Analyst for a 6-month contract. Job Purpose

• The SEND Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in enhancing performance management across the SEND service. This includes finalising and implementing KPIs, improving data systems and processes, and supporting the development of dashboards and reporting tools. The role will directly contribute to the strategic oversight and operational efficiency of the SEND programme and service.
  

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• Finalise and prioritise KPIs for the SEND and DMP dashboards in collaboration with stakeholders.
  
• Analyse and improve business systems and processes to ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
  
• Enhance data inputting and collection methods to support performance monitoring.
  
• Collaborate with the data team and Power BI developers to build and refine dashboards.
  
• Assist the Head of Service in developing performance management frameworks for SEND managers and teams.
  
• Produce and present DMP performance reports and analysis for relevant groups and governance boards.
  
• Support the SEND service in using data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
  
• Contribute to defining the job description and person specification for a permanent SEND Business Analyst role.
  

Essential Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within SEND or public sector services.
  
• Strong background in performance management, KPI development, and data analysis.
  
• Experience working with data teams and dashboard development tools (e.g., Power BI).
  
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Analysis, Data Analytics, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
  

Additional information to note

• Working hours: 35 hours per week
  
• The role is outside IR35.
  
• Mostly remote based role.
