We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors to work for our partner SEND schools that are seeking new staff for the next academic year.

The SEND Behaviour Mentor will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviour, providing tailored interventions and strategies to help them manage their emotions, develop positive coping skills, and succeed in their learning.

Responsibilities:

·Work one-on-one and in small groups with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, providing targeted support and interventions to address underlying issues.

·Develop and implement individualized behaviour plans and interventions, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external professionals, to support students' social and emotional development.

·Support students in understanding and managing their emotions, promoting self-regulation and positive coping strategies.

·Monitor and track student behaviour and progress, collecting data and providing regular feedback to teachers and other stakeholders.

·Act as a positive role model and mentor for students, fostering positive relationships and promoting respect, empathy, and resilience.

·Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, implementing strategies to prevent and de-escalate challenging behaviour.

·Provide guidance and training to teachers and support staff on behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEND.

Requirements:

·Previous experience working with students with SEND, particularly those with challenging behaviour, is essential.

·Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies, with the ability to develop and implement individualized behaviour plans.

·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.

·Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students who may exhibit challenging behaviour.

·Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently, with a proactive and flexible approach to tasks.

·A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.

·Relevant qualifications or training in areas such as Special Educational Needs, Psychology, Counselling, or Behaviour Management are advantageous.
