Job description

Are you a supportive and encouraging individual?

Do you have experience working in SEND?

At TeacherActive, we are privileged to represent and work with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) schools across London. Whether you are a SEND teacher, Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SENCO, or SEND Nursery Assistant, we have the role for you! Our easy and simple application and registration process could mean that we can provide you with a fulfilling job opportunity as soon as possible. Due to our in-house expertise in SEND, we have recently branched out and built a fantastic network with a range of SEND schools all over London, so those with SEND experience and a passion to learn and progress in this field will be supported through this transition or growth in their career.

If you have experience working with children diagnosed with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), then it is highly likely we will be able to find you a position within our SEND schools, or even mainstream schools. We provide 24/7 support and will build a strong relationship with you to understand your needs and what role will best suit you.

We help schools throughout London find Short-Term and Part-Time staff to assist with Daily, Short-Term, and Long-Term supply needs. This allows you to maintain a flexible lifestyle and work when you are free, while also gaining valuable experience in the SEND Education Sector.

All individuals working in a school will need an enhanced DBS on the update service. If you do not have this, we can assist by sending you a direct link for you to apply. If you have worked overseas for over 6 months within the last 5 years, you will need an OSPC (Overseas Police Check) - both of these are needed due to safeguarding, and will be a requirement for all school environments.

Salaries will differ depending on the role being inquired about; we have listed the salary of a teaching assistant above.

Qualifications needed depending on the role:

Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
  • Level 2/3 qualification as a teaching assistant or equivalent
  • Previous experience working 1:1 or with small groups
  • Encouraging and supportive personality
SEND Teachers

  • Experience working within a nursery and/or with children with ASD
  • A supportive and caring nature
