We are seeking tutors to provide tailored academic and emotional support to students with SEMH and SEND needs. The role involves:

  • Delivering personalised 1:1 or small group tuition in various subjects.
  • Adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs.
  • Supporting students in building confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Collaborating with parents, carers, and professionals to create effective learning plans.
  • Providing tuition to pupils who may be out of formal education and require structured learning plans to help reintegrate into school.
  • Creating engaging, structured lessons that help bridge gaps in students education and boost attainment levels.

Location: Within the community or pupils home in

Position: SEMH and SEND Tutor

Type of work: Contract

Contract type: Temporary

Full-time/part-time: Flexible

Minimum rate of pay: GBP25+ per hour

Hours: Flexible working hours, depending on the convenient timings for case

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with SEMH and/or SEND students.
  • Possess UK classroom teaching experience.
  • A strong understanding of differentiation and adaptive teaching strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Be creative, patient, and willing to think outside of the box.
  • Have experience working with disengaged pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
